“I Am Grateful For….”

How many times do you take the time out of your day to be grateful for what you have? Do you ever make a list of what it is that you are appreciative of? Stop right now and sit down. Take a sheet of paper out and start writing a list of the things that are comforting to you. If you make that list I promise you will feel better about your day. You will be more aware of what others do around you. Do you ever think about how fortunate you are to have clean water, bathrooms, shelter, food, computers, business opportunities, and many other items? I am sure that if you did that right now you would find how dependant you are on so many people in your life.

People have done a lot for you just as you have done much for them. Even the smile or hug from a family member can be life saving. It will be easier for you to respect and honor your friends and family members. I believe that it will be easier to go to work and you will enjoy your co-workers more. I bet that if you are a business owner and you wrote a letter of appreciation towards your employees or came up to each one individually and complemented them then you would find your profit growing. Kindness is just as contagious as negativity. It is up to you how you will act. Now it is important that you realize that sometimes you will have challenges on that list. These challenges, such as a difficult relationship, can be vital to making you the person that you are today.

How many times do we look back at our trials that we were angry or depressed about and now find ourselves appreciative of that experience? Really one of the worse events is not the trials we face, but instead how we respond negatively to them and often take it out on other people. I think if we could step outside ourselves and see how we rationalize overreacting then I believe that it would lead to embarrassment.

Start now responding with positive affirmations. It will gradually become easier to accept our circumstances and react accordingly and swiftly. It will become second nature. I believe it will spill over in every aspect of your life. If you go over these items often then you will find more and more things to be grateful for. Eventually negativity will seem foreign and you will break that habit. Share this list with others because they will become aware of these benefits of life. They will respect you more because often we just don’t realize what others are thinking. We assume what others believe and don’t connect to their viewpoint. Writing these thoughts down can be intimidating, but also very cathartic after a while. Don’t waste any time. Write as many things as possible because it will only open up more doors to success in your life.
