Internet Business Opportunities | Listen And Repeat

Listen And Repeat

One of the best ways to build a solid sales business is to build a list of the ideal salesman. One of the worst things that anyone does is to try to do what others do and then alter it according to themselves. There are certain aspects about yourself that you need to stay true to, but don’t incorporate your weaknesses into their strong sales pitch. It takes a humble person to realize when others are better then them.

If you want to be where they are at then you need to improve by mimicking them. This might sound like cheating. It’s not! Sales is based on plagiarizing. Get used to it. It just takes an honest approach and it will work when it needs to. It won’t work all the time because nothing works all the time, but the important thing is that you won’t get in the way of those that truly desire it.

1.Get Audio/Video Recordings-Sales is the same as acting. You need a script and you need some examples. Understand that quality acting is honest sincere acting. The same goes for sales. You need to be genuine and honestly care about your prospects. The best always do. An actor will mimic anyone that they are portraying by constantly going over video and audio over and over again until they know their actions like the back of their hand. The same goes with sales. Go to the best and ask him or her for some assistance. Butter them up a little because salesman love praise (most people do). Then ask for some help and guidance and if you can follow them. Audio and Video recording are the best because you can go over it every night away from work. It is your homework for the test every day you have at work.

2.When You Are Done Practicing, Practice Again-I can not emphasize this enough that there is always room for improvement. You will start to mold your own ways as you grow and it is good, but can also be bad because you can reverse to old bad habits. Refresh often, even for a half hour here and there. It will make all the world of difference. The human mind will naturally forget certain aspects and we will mold our own truths in our heads.

3.Teach Others-I promise that improvement magnifies greatly when you can impact other salesman and women. Not only will you build friendship and trust with your co-workers, but your game will be sharper. You will find yourself critiquing your own abilities again as you go through their strengths and weaknesses. Often you may stumble over successful techniques that you can add to your skill set. Don’t make it too complicated, but share bits and pieces and you will find strength in your own presentation.

Very good stuff Cade! If I would have had this site when I was in sales I might have stuck with it. I tagged you on another train, I think it will be a good one!

I loathe sales(not my strong point), but you are correct. It’s important to “mimic” and understand the clients wants and needs. I think a certain kind of confidence has be to be there, or you aren’t getting that sale.

That is true Deb. What I was referring to was the mimicking between salesman. If you want to be like the best then you need to do what they do. The same should be said for Blogging. You have to mimic what the best do.

Amanda you are right…to me that is what makes blogging exciting because you are always looking to the future and what you can accomplish. I guess that I am a dreamer! :)

Thanks for commenting on my blog about blog catalog. I agree about your idea of a good salesman. I wish the salesmen who call on me used some of these ideas. They can be so annoying.

Thanks Karen. I think it is so important for a salesman to understand any person before ever trying to convince them of something.

True! And if you replaced “sales” with “career as an actor” or “teacher” or “performer” — everything you wrote would still apply!

Study the Masters. Rehearsal. Practice.

And as I’m fond of saying, “It’s all about presentation!”
