Rich Dad, Poor Dad
Robert Kiyosaki mentions his youth and the difference between his dad’s lifestyle and financial mentality working for a government job compared to that of his friend’s father and the relationship that he creates working for his friend’s dad. He talks about how he realizes that the standard mentality in our society doesn’t lead to success and you have to leverage time and money to find it. He discusses about minding your own business and remembering that no matter what happens working for another company, you have a responsibility to create your own financial success with your own business. He brings up examples of real estate investing, stock investing, and network marketing.
All of these examples are impressive for anyone to witness for the first time. After I read this book I was blown away and appreciative that I had read this book early on in my life before I had a family. I have come to understand how important it is for us to make sure that we don’t spend our entire lives building someone else’s dreams and only leaving with very little before I die. This book really gives a good understanding for people as far as what they can be able to do with a business and really anyone with the right education can create success.
I believe that if you are a parent then you should get a copy of this book and put it in your collections of must reads. It will help your children with their future as they decide what they want to do with their lives. Read the forward and I think it will give you a good idea of what a parent went through, which might be similar to what many of you are going through right now in your lives.
I suggest you also read Cash Flow Quadrant, which takes the money making strategies from Rich Dad, Poor Dad and it takes it to another level so you can understand how to properly use the time in your life so you can spend more time with your family and doing the things that you love. Some other authors to take a look at like Robert Kiyosaki are Jay Abraham, Robert Allen, Carlton Sheets, and Donald Trump. I suggest that you read Why We Want You To Be Rich by Trump and Kiyosaki as another option.
