Filling The Hole In Your Life With More Than Just A Business
Filed Under Self-actualization |
We’ve got the most prosperous culture in human history and we’ve also got the biggest spiritual hole in human history. People are saying, “I can’t fill the hole with money. I can’t fill it with alcohol, or drugs, or sex, so what do I need to fill it with?”
Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of Chicken Soup For The Soul
I found this quote by a man who I admire quite a bit. He brings up some valid points that are invaluable. So many people are unsatisfied with their life and want more and more and more. They are never happy in anything that they do. The satisfaction of their goals are short lived. They find vices that only make things worse.
I have found that we are so focused on making money, but we don’t even know why. Why do we start a home based business and why do we blog? I think that it is a valuable question that many can’t answer. I have come to realize how important short and long term goals are. They are priceless in life because they give meaning. They help to establish not just where you are going, but why.
I have found that writing down my life events in a Journal or some type of note taking process can help you to understand what it is you are doing in life. It may amaze you to think of what your purpose is and what direction you are going in with business, relationships, and health.
I have found that when I have a code of conduct with morals and values then it makes life meaningful. There is something to live for and to share. There is joy and truly something to look for beyond just this life.

Wow. Words of wisdom. I always argue with my friends and family members on this issue on this topic but I don’t know who to blame for their theory of “money is everything”.
Glad to see I am not the only one who feels the same way.
