Be Ethical In Your Business From The Start

I remember when I worked for a company that was on the rise and it was run by several young men. They were creating financial success at a rapid pace and I was hired on to work with them. I was excited for the opportunity. I started with the company and I was struggling to find success. I went out one day to sell with one of the vice presidents of the company and he trained me how to approach a door.
I was in awe at his success, but then I soon realized that the principles that he was teaching were incorrect as I started to go out and emulate them. One time I performed one of his tactics and it not only lost me a deal, but I was accussed of lying and the owner of the house threatened to call the cops. I felt that I was in the wrong place and since then have found out numerous things that were unethical with that company and how little credibility and trust there was in that company. Many employees turn against this company and lawsuits fly out the door left and right from this company and towards this company.
All of this was a horrible example to me. I since have sold with another company that preached ethics and honesty. The customer is a priority and most importantly what is going to be best for them, not for the salesman. The sale is literally thirty times more expensive and with less contacting, but yet I have made more than I could ever had made at this other job.
Honesty is a necessity for any company and will impact your sales and the future of your business. You will be surprised what the sins of your past will do to haunt your future. It can cripple you. It might not happen today, but it will always come back to destroy you in some aspect in your future. Always ask yourself what purpose does my business serve the community and how can I best serve my fellow man?
