Ten Ways To Get Rid Of Debt And Cost In Business

Filed Under Starting A Business |

There are so many ways that people struggle with money when it comes to business, especially brand new entrepreneurs out of college. It is often like giving a child a loaded gun and expecting them to hit a target a mile away. I think that if people educate themselves using some of these tips along with countless other ways to cut costs and thereby saving a lot of money, then it will make a huge difference in their lives.

1. Cost Should Be Minimize

Find ways to pay a little less here and there with your bills including furniture, electric, and gas.

2. Make Sure Every Cost Is Necessary

Only way you can get rid of debt is if you spend money that will make you more money. Otherwise scrap the idea and search for more efficient ways.

3. Avoid Traveling

Don’t travel unless the desired party pays for you or you are garuanteed x amount of dollars to offset the price. Remember you are not just paying for a trip, but taking away time from you business duties.

4. Have A Good Accountant

Make sure that everything you spend is calculated and find every way possible to pay off debt by saving the amount you have to pay to taxes.

5. Avoid Paper

Go paperless with everything that you possibly can. Most contracts can legally be done over the Internet. This will save you so much in paper, staples, pens, pencils, printing ink, etc.

6. Cut Prices With Suppliers and Shippers

Always be on the look out for better deals and use that as leverage to who you are currently working with. Never allow for them to raise prices and in fact ask them several times a year to cut prices.

7. Avoid Meetings

Meetings usually can be taken care of with individual e-mails, phones calls, or teleconferences, etc. Avoid making people get out of there work space to have them go to a meeting and discuss about issues that are usually not that important.

8. Empower employees to handle small dollar issues

Set principles in place for your employees to follow and then allow for them to manage themselves. You can’t micromanage every dollar or you are losing your focus. Time is money.

9. Put Money Into Product Development

So much money is lost in distribution and marketing. These are important aspects, but they don’t allow for you to spend your time finding out how to maximize your efforts and attract a great client base.

10. Attack Smaller Markets

You don’t have to be the high line product initially. Most companies don’t start that way. Find a niche and learn your trade well and then let your research dollar do it’s work to find proven markets to jump into.

Great post. A lot of people are charging good money to give what you’ve just give for free. I’ve been thinking about buying Keven Trudeau’s Debt Cures book, but I’m sure between what you’ve just shown, and other info out there, I can do it for free. Great blog! What would you recommend I get started with? I’ve been told by a friend that the site http://www.thetruthaboutdebtcures.com has some good info, but havn’t decided whether or not to buy it yet.

    Your thoughts?

You must have heard of this before but I think proper planning of the future can also reduce your cost effectively. Many of us dont think twce before making decisions and thats when we land up in trouble.

No 5. Avoid Paper. I worked in document management - you would not beleive how much money even a small company can save by going paperless! People forget to streamline their business in order to cut the debt.
