Be Open With Your Employees

You need to be honest with any person that you bring into the business even if it hurts their feelings. This is a fine skill to learn how to accomplish and would be worth your time to figure out because it will happen again and again until you can hire someone to do it for you. Now this doesn’t just apply to firing an employee. This applies to any dress standards, interaction with other employees, job responsibilities, and even their mannerisms. There are certain things that will be very hard for you to change with these people, but you must face it because they are compromising the productivity of your work environment.

Take your time when you talk with them and let them know that you are there to help, but with honesty comes hurt feelings often. They might not take it easily so you may have to remind them again. Always make sure though that they understand what you have asked them and they are willing to follow whatever advice you suggest. Don’t beat around the bush, instead be very clear and cite examples for them without putting your other employees in uncomfortable positions.
