Another way to create a prototype is by making an actual 3D model of the device out of materials such as metal, wood, paper, Styrofoam, etc. This is the next step up from a simple drawing or sketch and provides viewers with the opportunity to actually hold and feel what the object will realistically look like. Visually enhancing a potential invention will increase the probability of that object being produced and bought by consumers.

With the prototype, you can then show potential customers and see if they will like it. Their hands on experience is a great way to test your prototype.
