There are few reasons for a customer/supplier relationship to end. One reason I know about is the customer wanting to move on to different services, with a different supplier. In my experience with this client we had few years of successful relationship together. This was a very positive relation for both of us. They decided to move on, and so did I. Notwithstanding this we still have great consideration for each other.
This was actually an amazing experience for me. The ability to use my knowledge and experience acquired with my customer to move on to new business opportunities, and probably my customer was able to move on thanks to the services I provided him. Great thing, I love business.

You never know when you will need that relationship. Never burn a bridge. It could bite you in the end.
