What Is The Best Home Based Business Opportunity For Me After Failing At One

Sometimes it seems like everything is crashing down on you.
There is a good chance that most of you have been in this situation where you have gone through months or maybe years working on a business, but it falls flat on its face. “It isn’t me!” you tell yourself.
Well the sad truth is you are probably to blame in some regards, but you can’t put that pressure on yourself. One thing you can do is learn from the experience and use it to start a new business.
I heard probably some made up stat somewhere that crept out of a horrible seminar that it takes something like five or seven failed business opportunities on average before you find the right one. Whether that is true or not, you may have a ways to go.
We all love the Abe Lincoln story of failure that lead him to the White House. We all appreciate Thomas Edison’s statement of “I did not fail. I just found 10,000 ways that didn’t work.” But do we appreciate it enough to follow it?
Business Rehab
There is no FBA: failed business anonymous for us to join. We have a lot of other people we can talk to, self help CDs, webinars, seminars and teleseminars galore, but they don’t put money in our pockets. I can watch The Secret a million times (which I did before going to sleep almost every night for a summer) but the TV won’t put Benjamins under my pillow in the morning (maybe I just went against the law of attraction!)
First you need to evaluate what happened before you moved on. In fact often one of the best things you can do is move forward in a similar industry because of this experience, but before you do here are some questions to ask so that way this time you can find the best home based business opportunity to fit you.
1) What were the steps that led to my demise?
This sounds so epically depressing, but write it down. Be detailed about anything involving any employees, business relationships, products, work environments, work habits, negotiations, financial decisions, and whatever else could possibly be involved. You know why it happened so flesh it out.
There is a principle here that will keep you motivated and build you up again. Even if it was fully your fault this is the chance to redeem yourself and come back with guns blazing. Remember Honest Abe’s wife went crazy, he couldn’t speak well, he struggled with depression and anxiety, but he became one of the greatest figures in this nation! Could it be that this could make you great too?
2) How could you change it?
This is key. Many people know what they did wrong, but don’t understand how to do it differently. I think one of the best things you can do is talk it out with others and discover other pathways.
Discuss your failure with business experts, gurus, mentors, etc. If you can get different view points then you will also potentially see other opportunities. Business partners love to see fighters.
3) Use this to help mold your next business project.
One time I was involved in a business that still exists, but I failed myself out intentionally because of the way it was ran. People were hired on to the company like free guests were pulled off the streets of Los Angeles to the set of The Price Is Right.
Employees became a benchmark of excellence. It was fine when financially things were going well, but when the economy took a hit then mouths were not fed any more. It was like Oliver Twist going up and asking, “Could I have some more sir?” with the response of “SOME MORE!?!?”
There were more liabilities, more evil speaking, more lawsuits, more confusion, and the list goes on and on. To this day I am going to try to avoid employees. That might sound not very American, but I learned that little is better and machines and systems are beautiful. I will have to hire some people, but not half of a city. Contracting will be performed when possible.
I would not have put my business together this way if I didn’t first experience that and I am grateful for it. Learn now from your mistakes because it will be a blessing down the road.

How to NOT Find a Home Based Business Opportunity

No...this doesn't really happen if you push a button on your computer.
When you are looking to make money online you are probably in a situation where you are frustrated at something going wrong in your life that you want to improve. I know that feeling very well. It doesn’t seem like it is going to be a fun venture looking for a business because you are so stressed.
Well let’s pretend for a second that all of your problems are gone and that you are just enjoying a nice day on the internet. You get to surf wherever you want and enjoy random acts of poetry. With the exception of English written blogs by Indonesians who don’t know English “good”, this might be the funniest stuff on the internet if you enjoy it for it’s pure value.
Here are some signs you are on the path toward the online marketing absurd:
1) A Program Involving A System Or A Machine
Most of these paint a pretty picture in your mind of some type of large machinery just pumping out money left and right. It also lends to the whole mentality of making it easy for you.
Imagine a machine that just spews out money. You didn’t have to make it or anything. Marketers prey on lazy people. Don’t be lazy and become a part of something that expects effort and creativity out of you. Otherwise it is a disservice to everyone involved.
2) Tick Tock, Tick Tock
I absolutely love the clocks and tell me you love them too. You know that counting clock that gives you a limited time to get signed up for a business or to have some offer.
Another solid gimmick. Now there is a caveat to this that there will be limited positions with franchises or certain spots in MLM’s, but at the same time you should have a realistic time to think about it. There are countless businesses out there that you can join and when you decide you need to put a good deal of effort into it.
This is a scare tactic that basically works to force you into action. That can be a good thing because often you can think yourself into a frenzy about a business and you will just have to make a plunge. It shouldn’t be decided though by a clock that increases time when you click a refresh button.
3) Income Claims
Most smart business owners will never franchise or there business saying you can make $100-$1000 a day or whatever because it isn’t practical and it really isn’t that ethical. Effort and creativity will help mostly decide your income and if you have a product that the market wants.
People are used to hearing they will make x amount of dollars because that is what they were told with a job and what they have come to expect. It is a comfort zone that we all have when we are employees. We know our income and budget for it and everything is going to be fine.
It is important that you set your goals with your business and decide the income for yourself rather than someone else telling you what you will make.
4) Easy One Step Process
OH I love easy! Easy is great because this goes back to people being lazy. A lot of people get into bad financial situations because they decide to be there. We all have trials and tribulations, but we decide how we will respond.
People are stuck in quicksand, sinking, and looking for anything to grab at. The real problem is money spending and motivation, not easy one step time machines that spew out dollar bills with a turn of a key.
One lady that I just met that show how important effort is, decides to market herself very well. She is honest and shows her credentials of who she is. There isn’t fluff and she gets to the point. You can check out her internet business here to see what you can learn from simple marketing and a honest voice.
So avoid flashy long copy offering everything for nothing home business opportunities that will be easy only if you get in during the next five seconds. Be smart about your future and pick a business with some integrity.

How Do I Find My Niche With Home Business Opportunities

You probably have many niches right under your nose.
We are going to discuss some options you have to make money with home business opportunities that allows for you to make money out of your house while enjoying what you do. This is an activity to help you decide what direction you want to go into based on your experiences, strengths, passions, etc.
Don’t be surprised if you end up going in a completely different direction then what you might initially think.
One of the best areas to initially consider are your hobbies. What is it that you do every day or often that you enjoy?
Action: Write down your daily routine and keep a journal of your activities.
Think about what books do you read and what magazines do you enjoy. Often these hobbies will lead you to more ideas then you can think of. If you have blogs or websites that you go to then write those topics down.
Action: Write down interests of things you read.
Go to Amazon.com or Paypal.com under their shops section. There are huge lists of ideas here where you can brainstorm different topics. This will give you a good start.
Action: Write down ideas from Paypal and Amazon.
Once you have this list of a dozen or so ideas either write about each one of them and why you picked them or talk it out with someone you trust. By doing this you are going to do two things. One you are going to figure out why you chose those areas and which ones appeal more to you. Second you are going to figure out your business self and what makes you tick. You will only do well in areas you are excited about.
Action: Write or discuss topics of interest.
Now after you have done this think about how you responded to this personally and what tone of voice you had on each topic. Which areas stood out as being more exciting? If you were talking with someone else then ask them their opinion as to what you got excited about.
Action: Realize passions and narrow it down to six.
Finally think of each topic and think of a person you know that is associated with these six areas in your life. Describe them. Ask to yourself what do you like about them? What do you dislike about them? What experiences have you had with them and were they positive or negative? Who is the most creative? Who complains the most? Who inspires you? Flesh it out. Which three people do you enjoy the most?
Action: Narrow down your topics to three areas based on which three people you enjoy the most.
Now that you have these three areas you will have a good idea of why you like these home business opportunity topics and what appeals to you about each of these niches. The people represent potential clients or associations in that industry and chances are other people in that industry are similar and you will interact the same way. This client association method isn’t full proof, but it helps to open your mind to what you may have to deal with before you jump into a niche work at home business.
